Public TV

Do you remember way back when public television didn't show any commercials? Nowadays, although there are no commercial interruptions, commercials are being shown at the beginning and end of each show. Hopefully this means that they will stop giving us the double-whammy of stealing our tax money and begging for donations every other month.

...but don't hold your breath.

Personally, I think the government should be discouraging the watching of television, not funding additional stations.

People watch that horrid contraption as a subsitute for thinking. Their brains phase out at and they just kind of stare at it in a pseudo-catatonic state.

I think it largely explains the people I knew in high school who were barely literate. Between TV (and videogames, if it was a guy) there was not much else occupying their free time.

Hi Hattie - I have started a new aggregator for Christian women bloggers. I've added about 20 people to start it off. I'm not doing a blogroll as people have heaps already. All I ask is that people in it link to it. I added you. Could you email me and let me know if you want to be in (and have linked to it) or not? Here's the link:
Women4God BlogsWe aren't well represented on the aggregators and this is a way for women to read each other and new bloggers to find other women. Once I've heard from the first group I'll open it up to everyone else to join. Thanks.
My email is catez2003 AT yahoo DOT com

When I made it up, I didn't realize that the name "Hatless in Hattiesburg" implied a female writer. I'm a guy, and that name has nothing to do with my real name. I've seen where a few other bloggers have also made that assumption, though...

No offense taken.
