Constitution Day

Facing opposition to his original Constitution Day proposal from Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson, et.al., Kleagle/Senator Byrd has now proposed to set aside three-fifths of a day for African-American students to study the Constitution.

"One will not protect what one does not value. And one cannot value what one does not understand," Byrd, D-W.Va., said when he introduced the provision.
