Vote for Obama

Not for U.S. President - for U.N. Secretary:
Obama has stirred an excitement around the globe unmatched by any American politician in living memory. Polling in Germany, France, Britain and Russia shows that Obama would win by whopping majorities, with the pattern repeated in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. If November 4 were a global ballot, Obama would win it handsomely. If the free world could choose its leader, it would be Barack Obama.
Fine. Should Mr Obama inexplicably fail to win the Presidency, I’d support him for Secretary-General of the United Nations, once Ban Ki-moon’s term ends in 2011. It’s a job to which he’s probably better suited, anyway: more oratory, less scut work.
Then ask yourself:
"What has the world done better than the U.S.A. to make their advice be given any credence whatsoever? Economy? Science? Invention? Liberty? General prosperity? Military and political power? Culture (that normal citizens actually like - as opposed to the tripe their alleged “betters” think they should appreciate)? Our absolute dominance in any sport any thinking person could possibly find interesting (i.e., not scoccer or cricket)? The loudmouths living in rest of this world really should stop embarrassing themselves and, instead of presuming to lecture Americans about how inferior and stupid and provincial they are, should buy a clue."

They can have him...

Overqualified for the U.N., he is.
Keep him in the Senate where he can do no harm.

Fly in the ointment: Obama's a US citizen. Unless they've changed recently, UN rules prohibit any citizen of a Security Council permanent member nation from becoming Secretary General.

hmmm, maybe they'll make an exception since he refuses to respect our flag? ;)
