Do You Know Someone Suffering From Trump Unacceptance & Resistance Disorder (TURD)?

TURD is a pattern of pathologically dissociative and psychotic behavior, first observed in the late hours of November 8th 2016, and increasing in severity with passing time.

Sufferers of TURD often exhibit pronounced cognitive dissonance, sudden bouts of rage, rioting, and uncontrollable crying.People with TURD are characterized by a persistent unwillingness to accept that Donald Trump is going to Make America Great Again.

TURD Is caused by the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America. For many, both in America and worldwide, this was a shocking and unexpected outcome; their preferred news sources having failed to inform them that the alternative candidate was a criminal parasite.

Research is ongoing, but TURD appears to correlate closely with some of the following environmental and behavioral factors:
  • Spotty or non-existent work history
  • Pay stubs from (Hitler Youth member) George Soros
  • Identifying as a Feminist
  • Currently enrolled in college, and/or Possession of a Liberal Arts college degree
  • Living in a densely populated metropolitan area
  • Massive student debt
  • Gang membership
  • Drug addiction
  • Minuscule intellect
  • Membership in the Democratic Party
Patients with TURD are very resistant to treatment, and dangerous in large groups. Any possibility of treatment requires that they be separated from their hive-mind support apparatus; they cannot begin the process of accepting reality in the presence of encouragement towards delusion and irrationality. Separation may require the assistance of law enforcement.

If you have a friend or loved one suffering from TURD, urge them to seek treatment. Together we can beat this scourge, and Make America Great Again.

meet the new boss again

Commentor tseib at Lileks (edited):
"...the attitude many Baby Boomers ultimately took toward the world of freedom and prosperity their parents' generation had secured for them. Having grown up never knowing want, and in line to inherit a post-war world of unparalleled material comfort..., they shunned their parents' straight life of compliance and conspicuous consumption (at least for a time) for adventure, self-expression, and non-conformity. Fifty years later, they ARE the establishment and - while still picturing themselves as rebellious rock-and-rollers - seek to impose a conformity of political correctness (and a hierarchy of authority with their college-educated selves as the obvious rulers over the blue-collar deplorables) far more proscribed and authoritarian than anything their parents could have dreamed up."

that Churchill speech

The earlier section is just as relevant as the later, more remembered, section:
Turning once again, and this time more generally, to the question of invasion, I would observe that there has never been a period in all these long centuries of which we boast when an absolute guarantee against invasion, still less against serious raids, could have been given to our people. In the days of Napoleon, of which I was speaking just now, the same wind which would have carried his transports across the Channel might have driven away the blockading fleet. There was always the chance, and it is that chance which has excited and befooled the imaginations of many Continental tyrants. Many are the tales that are told. We are assured that novel methods will be adopted, and when we see the originality of malice, the ingenuity of aggression, which our enemy displays, we may certainly prepare ourselves for every kind of novel stratagem and every kind of brutal and treacherous manœuvre. I think that no idea is so outlandish that it should not be considered and viewed with a searching, but at the same time, I hope, with a steady eye. We must never forget the solid assurances of sea power and those which belong to air power if it can be locally exercised.

I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once more able to defend our island home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance

Serge Trifkovic via Catholic Answers:
"Some critics may object that this account of Islam in the modern world does not pay much attention to Islamic moderation, to the everyday wish of everyday Muslims for a quiet life. This is not because such moderates are rare, but because they are rarely important. Religions, like political ideologies, are pushed along by money, power, and tiny vocal minorities. Within Islam, the money and the power are all pushing the wrong way. So are the most active minorities. The urgent need is to recognize this. Our problem is not prejudice about Islam, but folly in the face of its violence and cruelty. And in any case, the willingness of moderates to be what are objectively bad Muslims, because they reject key teachings of historical Islam, may be laudable in human terms but does nothing to modify Islam as a doctrine."

Trump: "No the other one."
Hillary: "The creation of the biggest refugees crisis since WWII?"
Trump: "No the other one."
Hillary: "Leaving Iraq in chaos?"
Trump: "No, the other one."
Hillary: "The DOJ spying on the press?"

Trump: "No, not any of those."
Hillary: "Okay, Donald, I give up. Which scandal?"
Trump: "It's the one where you scandalously insist on wearing unfashionable pantsuits."

A ransom to Iran by any other name...

...is just as criminal:
"Let’s not forget, when North was involved with the mere transfer of weapons and replacement parts for weapons to Iran in exchange for hostages in the 1980s, our nation was at a stand-still as Congress and the media behaved as though the presidency (and quite possibly the future of our Democratic Republic) was hanging in the balance.

Today, the circumventing of federal law by laundering US currency through a Swiss bank and converting it to 500 Euro bills (the preferred denomination of drug cartels and terrorists) and sending it on an unmarked plane in the dead of night while a plane with our American hostages waits for it to land barely warrants one question at a presidential press conference."

To paraphrase she snailie at Lileks today:
For nearly a century, the Democratic Party was the political wing of the Ku Klux Klan. The femtosecond African Americans were given voting rights the states couldn't weasel away, their mantra became 'we were never at war with minorities, we were always at war with the white power structure'.

Speak Truth To Power

The Witherspoon Institute explains how "tyranny comes disguised as civil rights":
How do you get public opinion on board with an agenda that leads them to deny the reality of their own humanity? There are lots of pieces to this puzzle, including the erosion of social trust, the breakdown of family, social polarization, and growing ignorance of history. But the groundwork has been laid over a long period of time.

First, virtually all outlets of communication had to be on board—Hollywood, academia, the media. Check.

All medical personnel, particularly mental health personnel, had to be “educated” to comply with the transgender program or risk losing their licenses. Check.

The educational establishment had to imbue schoolchildren with the ideology. Check.

Large corporations had to get on board as stakeholders and enforcers. Check.

And, of course, the push to legally de-sex society had to be embedded—Trojan Horse style—within a slightly less alien idea, with the slick slogan “marriage equality.” Check.

Churches had to be brought on board so that even religion became a conduit for anti-truth. Check.

Social, emotional, and economic pressures had to be established to censure anyone who dared to question the wisdom of it all. Check.

Any such person had to be labeled a bigot, a hater, and a non-person. Checkmate.

More on Bernie

One Bernie supporter on Facebook had posted an image about how it was government's job to redistribute wealth. Apparently my refutation of its ill logic was sound enough that the post was deleted. Here is a distillation of the points I made there:

Government has a duty to provide defense. The extent of that defense is debatable (and offense much more debatable), but the role itself is not.

Government has a duty to build infrastructure. The extent of that role is debatable, but the role itself is not.

Government has a duty to uphold justice, and to refute the demands of those who co-opt the word 'justice' for their own corrupt schemes.

Government DOES NOT have a duty to give away freebies to any constituencies. Neither Wall Street nor their Occupiers, neither college students nor corporations, neither poor nor rich nor anyone in between deserve to have government steal from other citizens to satisfy their greed.

It is the role of charity to take care of the least fortunate. Charitable people do this first by taking care of immediate needs (food, medicine, etc.), then ideally by helping the recipient help themselves (job training, eliminating addictions, etc.) Organizations can only remain charitable as far as its members remain charitable, and are as prone to corruption as any other human organization.

Subcontracting the role of charity out to the government does several things:
  • it creates a bureaucracy that - by its very nature - diverts funds from the needy to sustain itself,
  • it makes fraud vastly more easy, by both cheating recipients and corrupt apparatchiks,
  • it removes the personal contact between donor and recpient which might result in a sense of community,
  • it rewards self-destructive behaviors that cause poverty (illegitimacy, drug abuse, etc.), negating any motivation for recipients to change,
  • it gives more-fortunate people a sop to their conscience that they 'are doing something for the poor' without having to sully themselves with actually doing anything for the poor, and
  • it breeds dependence on government, which - because of the money and power it gives them - is government's primary motivation for promoting the welfare state.

Again, I am agreeing that "all those crony capitalist fat cats" are a problem to America, but it's much more a problem of cronyism than of capitalism - as Whitewater and Solyndra demonstrate as well as Enron. Either way, the socialist (i.e. communist) fat cats are far worse. If you look closely, today's welfare state is being pushed by forces just as greedy and power-mad as any robber baron, yet more hypocritical because they pretend to be 'on the side of angels' and fool so many people into trusting a system that is essentially slavery.

Nobody expects the Hispanophobic Inquisition!

The second-most-obvious difference between the anti-communist witch hunt by McCarthy in the 50s and the pro-communist witch hunt by today's SJW industry is that the anti-communists have a sense of decency that can be called upon.

Bernie Sanders Hair

Inspired by swschrad's comment at Lileks' Bleat.

With an insincere apology to Kim Carnes, (reference video and lyrics )

His head is spherical,
His lips are chapped and bare,
His hands are always cold,
He got Bernie Sanders hair.
He'll keeps on yelling at you;
They won't let you think twice.
He's like Chernobyl snow,
He got Bernie Sanders hair.

And he'll tease you, he'll unease you,
Give away stuff just to please you.
He's atrocious, and he knows just
How to make America unjust.
He got Josef Stalin underwear,
He's got Bernie Sanders hair.

He'll take away your home
And wages (that ain't right).
He wants to claim the throne,
He got Bernie Sanders hair.
He'll sic the taxman on you,
Roll you like you were dice
Until you come out blue.
He's got Bernie Sanders hair.

He'll bulldoze you, when he throws you
To the street. Like a car he tows you.
He's ferocious and he knows just
How to make our businesses rust.
Everybody knows he's unfair,
He's got Bernie Sanders hair.

And he'll tease you, he'll unease you
Give away stuff tryin' to please you.
He's atrocious, and he knows just
How to make America unjust.
He got Josef Stalin underwear,
He's got Bernie Sanders hair.

He'll tease you.
He'll unease you
Tryin' to please you.
He's got Bernie Sanders hair.
We'll expose him
Cause we know him
And oppose him.
He's got Bernie Sanders hair.

Politically Corrupt

Rephrasing an idea from Russ Vaughn at American Thinker:
If it is immoral or criminal for Christian-owned businesses to deny services based on their fundamental beliefs, isn't it also immoral or criminal for governments to refuse their services to the citizens of those states who protect the religious freedoms of their citizenry? Isn't it also immoral or criminal for LGBT groups - based solely on their belief in Political Correctness - to boycott, threaten, and intimidate Christian-owned businesses? Other than scale, I see little difference.

Read it all, but the summary is:
"Trump is... a crass, gutter-tongued, vulgar man whose self-regard blinds his ability to understand his own ignorance. A man who casually encourages the worst, enables the mediocre, and wafts aloft cartoon concepts of American greatness with gusts of flatulent banalities. It takes a certain kind of historical illiterate not to realize his facial postures are literally aping a second-rate Italian fascist."

that special time of year

(bumped, again)

"WINTER"

(a perennial favorite rant of blogs and email forwarders, slightly edited. source uncertain, possibly michelle catalano.)
You would think people had never seen snow before - the way they react when there's a storm coming in. It's a weird phenomenon that strikes whenever more than three inches of snow is predicted. People start acting as if they had lived in pure sunshine and heat the whole time. OH NO! White stuff falling from the sky! We're all gonna DIE! Please. You all drive Lincoln Navigators and Hummers with twelve-wheel drive. The town will clear the roads within a day and your kids will be throwing snowballs at the neighbor kids within an hour.

I don't know what everyone gets so uptight about. And I certainly don't know why they all feel the need to run to the grocery store as soon as some yahoo on tv says the word “snow”. It's just a gut reaction, I guess. OH NO!! IT'S GOING TO SNOW!! Gather the children!! Man your posts!! DEFCON ONE!!!! And, like a sea of panicky lemmings, they drive en masse to their local delis and supermarkets and Dairy Barns, stocking up on milk and bread. Yes, milk and bread. It's an interesting phenomenon that's been around for as long as I can remember. There must be some forgotten urban legend that wove its way around decades ago. A suburban family wakes one morning to find that it has snowed. The mom goes into the kitchen only to find that there is only a half quart of milk and two slices of bread left! The horror!... And oh, irony of ironies, the deli just two blocks away has one gallon of fresh, whole milk left and one loaf of white bread on the shelf. If only there were some way to get two blocks away with having to trudge through the monster snow storm that dumped two inches of the white stuff all over town!

Not only that, snowstorms are like crack to the media. Why is it earth shattering news that it's freezing outside? Is this something new? Are you touting some kind of bizarro-world global-un-warming theory? Seriously, give up on that idiotic "Storm of the Century"tm meme. Since the life expectancy in this land is about 75 years and rising, the odds are pretty good that we'll see at least one of the real things, and you lose every last shred of credibility when you blurt out "Storm of the Century"tm every time the drifts get up to your ankles.

IT'S WINTER. Say it with me. WIN-TER. You know, that time of year when temperatures plummet and white stuff falls from the sky and your car battery dies and the homeless are rounded up and thrown into shelters and the snot running out of some kid's nose freezes to his face.

So I don't understand why you think it necessary to lead every news hour with the revelation that it is COLD and possibly SNOWING outside. As if this were some strange, new feeling for us. As if we never saw ice on our windshields or snow on the ground. You grab your camera crew and stand outside schools and offices and Home Depots and marvel at the people wearing hats and scarves and mittens because "This has never happened before! We wear bikinis and speedos all year long!! Is this really breaking news? Do you realize that for the last ten winters in row, maybe more, you have started your nightly newscasts with stories about how to keep warm? Does this seem just a bit unnecessary to you? Granted, it's not like we are living in northern Siberia, but we are kind of used to 15-degree days. It happens. It's WINTER. We really don't need some "expert" staring at us from the tv telling us to wear layers and eat a good breakfast and warm our cars up. Seriously, I hope Jack Frost freezes your mouths shut this year.

Ben Stein's Holiday Message

Ben Stein via Facebook
(Here's a link to his main site since I can't find a direct source for this article.)

My confession: I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejewelled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu. If people want a nativity scene, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina). Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorist attacks, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said okay.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.

Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it.... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what a bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

Ben Stein

"Actions speak louder than bumper stickers"

(found on facebook, slightly edited)
Here's a little history lesson on who is taking away your Social Security.

Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes.

Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION message was removed.

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program.

1.) That participation in the program would be completely voluntary [No longer voluntary],

2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program [Now 7.65% on the first $90,000, and 15% on the first $90,000 if you’re self-employed],

3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year [No longer tax deductible],

4.) That the money the participants put into the independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program [Under Johnson the money was moved to the General Fund and Spent], and

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income [Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed].

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month — and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put away’ — you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically-controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the ‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US

Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!

Now, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it! If enough people receive this, maybe the truth will begin to replace the lies.

logic was never their strong suit

This picture has been making the rounds on Facebook with over 300K likes and 400K shares:

The leftist hivemind thinks this proves their point that we should blindly open our borders to anyone, in this case Syrian refugees. This from the same leftist hivemind that believes Europeans coming to North America was one of the worst events in human history. I would ask them if they were wrong then or wrong now, but the kind of useful idiots that fall for this kind of cheap sloganeering are incapable of seeing past their brainwashing.

For the record, I am very much FOR allowing immigrants to LEGALLY come here to ESCAPE unbearable situations, and am very much against BOTH the lawless fifth-column hordes (foreign and domestic) bent on destroying America AND the jingoistic amoral xenophobia of its opposition party.

#BlackLivesMatter

Walsh, again, read it all:
"Abortion doctors kill more black people in a week than the KKK has in the past century. There are almost 2,000 black lives ended by abortion every single day in the United States, and overall, a black baby is more than 5 times as likely to be executed as a white baby. Try to reflect on this statistic: abortion kills more black people than heart disease, cancer, strokes, accidents, diabetes, homicide, and respiratory illness — COMBINED. Throw cops in there, too, and it’s still not close. Comparing just the two causes of death, it appears that abortionists kill about 700 times more black people than do cops...

...In New York, a black child is more likely to be aborted than born... In the country’s biggest city, there are more black children discarded in waste buckets and toilets than there are placed in nurseries at the maternity ward.

And cops are the ones dehumanizing black people?

Hundreds of white abortion doctors have become millionaires by killing black babies. Moreover, the abortionist murders black children and never faces so much as a grand jury proceeding. No, all he gets is a fat paycheck and a ‘God bless you’ from Barack Obama.

Black teens are sometimes shot by police when they fall into a life of violence and crime. But black infants are dismembered, decapitated, and poisoned just for falling into life in the first place.

Now let’s take this deeper. As horrific as Planned Parenthood’s ethnic cleansing is, the full story is much bigger. Side note: please don’t take my ethnic cleansing remark to mean that Planned Parenthood is attempting to wipe out the black race for the sake of quenching their racist urges. I don’t believe that for a moment. They’re just wiping out the black race for the sake of making a quick buck. This is a holocaust for profit, which makes abortionists like Nazis, but in some ways worse."

skip the title

"It’s time for a competent and honest adult of either gender to be president."
"The presidency is a job that requires action. When those actions are performed ineptly or dishonestly, bad things happen. The president is not a figurehead or a cheerleader. He (or she) has to do things. And now, after a long succession of presidents who immensely expanded the powers of the executive branch, it’s also important for the president to know when not to do things.

In the end, what matters is what has been done or not done, and for what reason those things were done or not done. If bad things were done for bad reasons, it’s not going to matter, in any practical sense, whether they were done by a man, a woman, a transgender eunuch, a goat, a walnut, or a dyslexic alien from planet Xenu.

Barack Obama just illustrated this dynamic quite explicitly, which was very helpful of him.

We were told it was “time” for a black president, and many black people voted for him for that reason alone. But then their median household incomes dropped precipitously, their unemployment rate didn’t, and their poverty rate went higher. I think they would agree that it isn’t, in fact, a better sort of poverty or a more palatable sort of unemployment because it happened under the reign of a black man. It still sucks, frankly. Just like it did before, or worse.

As it turns out, we elect presidents to get results, not to be demographical mascots. And if they don’t get results, or if the results are poor, their physical characteristics will not blunt the impact nor dull the sting of their monumental failures.

So, “time for a woman”? What does that mean? Would you apply it to any other area of your life? Do you have a checklist on your fridge of the races and genders of the plumbers, electricians, pediatricians, landscapers, and dermatologists you’ve used over the years, so that when you need one you can make a selection based on a rotation of sexual organs and pigment shades? “Hmmm. Need someone to come install wiring in our new addition. Whose turn is it? Let’s see, looks like it’s time for a Chinese person with a penis.”

Is that how you conduct yourself in your daily life? Of course not. You might want universities to admit people and countries to elect people based on affirmative action, but in your actual life, when push comes to shove, you always go with whoever you think will do the job and do it well, don’t you?"
...and his second point is even better.

where the truth lies, pt.3

In coverage of creativity-related stories, every once in a while someone will use the phrase "their truth" in reference to whatever the artist is trying to convey.

For better understanding, that phrase should be understood to mean "the artist's infinitesimal subset of Truth, confused with a lot of misunderstanding and hand-me-down nonsense."

irony board

I found this Robert Heinlein quote posted at a rabid militant atheist's blog:
“You can sway a thousand men by appealing to their prejudices quicker than you can convince one man by logic.”
Well, isn't that just a bit... morrisettian?
