Has anyone out there ever worked under a manager who actually knew what was going on? Or is the whole world run by clones of Dilbert's boss?

i really have worked for a manager who knew what was going on. then the president of the company fired her boss, and my boss and i were gonna stick around till they brought in this total ... not nice lady ... so my boss quit, and i was not far behind, i quit 3 weeks later. she was my favorite person to ever work for, too.
